2020 Zi Wei Dou Shu Forecast

January 25th of 2020 officially enters the new Chinese year – The Year of The Golden Rat. The reason why it’s a “golden” year is because this is a year of Metal in WuXing. WuXing (Five Elements) is a Chinese philosophy that is applied to all things in life, from Chinese medicine, feng shui to Zi Wei Dou Shu and even martial arts. Like Ying & Yang, the philosophy of Five Elements is about pursuit of balance, which brings harmony in life.

The year of Metal Rat (庚子年) comes once every 60 years, more often than not, it is usually a year of turbulence that sets the order for the next 10 years. When there is turmoil, rules are broken and remade, then comes the redistribution of wealth in our society. When people lose money, there are people who make money. So what is your fortune in 2020 from the perspective of Zi Wei Dou Shu?

The Destruction, Obstruction & Abundance Stars

There are three particular stars that appear in each natal, 10-year period, annual charts in Ziwei, making it 9 of them in total when analyzing one’s annual fortune (all three charts are layered on top of one another). These stars are Destruction, Obstruction and Abundance. The Destruction Star is like a large machete that can produce damage or force. The Obstruction Star is like a spinning top that brings obstacle or persistence. As for the Abundance Star, it brings prosperity and serendipity. Depending on which House they occupy, and which major or auxiliary stars they coexist with can have different meanings.

What Happened in 2019?

The year of 2019 for many people was a year of gloominess. Last year the Obstruction Star was in everyone’s Travel Palace which also represents your innermost being. When the Obstruction Star is in the Travel Palace, it creates worries and anxiousness. You are like a “spinning top” that spins and can’t seem get out of the loop. You may also have experienced some sort of obstacles socially (coming from insecurity) or worst case injury while being out and about. In the meantime, the Destruction Star was in the everyone’s Wealth Palace, so it seemed to be a year of large spendings. Lastly, the Abundance Star was in everyone’s Health Palace. Hopefully nothing was serious and it was just a little bit of weight gain for you.

Back to the Topic – 2020 Zi Wei Dou Shu Forecast

2020 is significantly a much better year for many individuals, especially when it come to money. The Abundance Star falls in the Wealth Palace, that means you may have some money coming in. So hopefully this will make up what you have lost if you were one of those unfortunate people in 2019, so invest wisely.

The Destruction Star is in the Children Palace this year. The Children Palace represents assets, fertility (uterus) and the relationship with children (if you have any). This could mean that you might have some unexpected bills or loss of money (that’s without your control). The Star of Delight (天喜） happens to be in the same palace, it represents joy and birth so congratulations are in order for many. However, it can also signify blood and surgeries when the Destruction Star is in the same palace, therefore people who are pregnant or thinking about getting pregnant, I would suggest caution.

As for those who already have children, there may be some tension and conflict, so this is a year of communication and patience. Lastly, since the Children Palace is the opposite of the Property Palace which represents your home. It may signify some feng shui issues, and I would also recommend carefulness while out and about, for example – driving.

The Obstruction Star is in the Health Palace this year, and the region of the chart also represents the head and shoulder area, it can indicate symptoms or problems in mental health or neck and shoulder injuries. Additionally, depending on which major and auxiliary stars it is with, there may be other health concerns in other parts of the body.

Lastly, for those who are looking for love or wanting to get married, this is a year of opportunities! The Star of Joy （紅鸞）represents love and wedding and often imply good news. It is in the Property Palace this year and shadows the Spouse Palace. I hope this year find you what you’re looking for!

Important: Annual Chart Only Indicates Possibility

With the above forecasts I am very much aware that NOT everyone will have good luck with money or finding love, and not all women will have issues with their pregnancy this year in 2020. This permutation of the annual chart only indicate possibility, but possibility never equals to 100% chance of happening.

However, if you find multiple of the harmful stars in the same palace when layering the annual chart on top of your natal and 10-year period charts, the odds significantly increase. This is exactly why in my last article I couldn’t stress enough about the importance of analyzing all charts simultaneously.
